Lions Update: Kevin Jones to be Ready for the Season

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Lions’ coaching staff is expecting Kevin Jones to be available for the September 9 opener in Oakland. Whether or not this happens remains to be seen, but even if he is available, don’t expect him to play. Tatum Bell and the bevy of other backs on the team can more than make up for Jones’ absence in the first game, if not the first few games. With the injury being as serious as it is, don’t expect the Lions to rush him back into action.
